We will have a special event to publicize our June 13 and 14 John Johnson Magic Show. At noon on June 4, the magician will perform a Houdini-style escape act. I will have further details in the coming weeks. This is a one-of-a-kind event, and sure to be history-making for our Versailles community.
Mimi Blais and Friends Ragtime Piano Concert is back for her 17th year Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10. Each evening performance will start at 7 p.m. There are two different shows. Monday night is billed as “Classical and Classical Rags” and Tuesday night will feature “Stride, Boogie and up-beat Ragtime.” Tickets for the Mimi concerts are $25 each seat, each night.
Mimi Blais is an internationally-known ragtime pianist. We bring in two rented grand pianos for this event and they are often played as a duet. This is truly a remarkable show.
Regarding our 2008 apple festival musical, Joni Spaulding will be our director. Joni has chosen to direct the musical, “Hello Dolly.” Audition dates are set for 6 to 9 pm., Tuesday, June 17 and Thursday, June 19.
There are four main female parts and four main male parts. Each person auditioning will need to sing a prepared song to an accompaniment tape or CD.
Mark your calendars for June 4, June 9 and 10, June 13 and 14, and June 17 and 19. A lot is happening at the Royal. You don’t want to miss out.
